Beauty of the bridePosted by Hema Iyer (Bangalore, India) on 22 February 2009 in People & Portrait and Portfolio. Mehendi - The mark of a bride This shot was taken at my friend's wedding in Jan 2008. She wore a beautiful green and red saree and matching bangles. The mehendi ceremony is my favourite part in the weddings.

Incredible design and colors. 22 Feb 2009 4:00pm @john4jack: Thanks Jack Ajay from Pune, IndiaWoW!!! This is what I have always wondered. How do they manage to make sure beautiful and such complicated lines and curves of mehandi on hands. and on top of that bride has to keep her hands untouched by anything for hours. And almost every woman walks with their hands up and spread in the middle of the so many people. But the end result is always great, beautiful design of mehandi and colourful bangles like this shot. 22 Feb 2009 5:06pm @Ajay: It took 6 hours to put mehendi on my hands during my wedding and then I had to keep it still for 6 more hours. It was a tough job but I was so satisfied and happy at the end of it. Its totally worth the time and effort :-).
